AutoRouter - Automatic Pipe Routing and Plant Modeling System is the leading knowledge-based system for plant concept design. AutoRouter enables plant designers and engineers to make early decisions in the design engineering work flow that have great impact upon costs and life cycle of the total project. It includes a fast automatic pipe router with advanced features to change the piping logic, including changes in routing order, equipment piping vicinity rules, user-defined header routing, and other advanced user-changeable options. Advanced automatic nozzle placement module AutoNozzle, and the automatic placement of inline components such as tees, reducers, and control valves are parts of AutoRouter. The AutoRouter module called Plant Builder, allows rapid creation of pipeway, and pedestal structures. User-changeable obstacles, and equipment placement enables evaluation of plant layouts. To facilitate rapid evaluation of plant models, AutoRouter outputs MTOs which provide cost indications of bulk materials, and exports pipe and plant data files in ASCII format to other plant design systems. AutoRouter is built as an application on top of Design++(RTM), a knowledge-based environment for rapid development of plant, building and equipment designs.
